Induction Evaluation

1 Explain the task
The task was that we were all in small groups and we had to create a short film that was named ‘Growing up I Loved…’

2 Describe how you came up with your idea
The idea of the project was to think about the earliest memory that I had about the first thing that I could remember that I loved when I was growing up and the first thing that came to my mind was Batman.

3 Describe how you planned your project
I planned my idea by writing the directions and positioning of the camera and what the interviewer’s questions were and what my answers were.

4 Explain what you learned about using cameras and tripods
I learned that when using a camera how to record things and how to watch them back, I have also learned that a tripod is vital when filming because if you did not have a tripod the camera would be shaking.

5 Explain what you learned about editing by using Final Cut Pro
I have learned how to edit visual and audio material on Final Cut Pro and I know how to extend and reduce footage and I know how to use effects on final cut pro like fading the material

6 Explain about uploading your finished project onto your blog and making a DVD of the project
We uploaded the film by making the whole project into a mov file. We did that by exporting the project into mov file and then turned it into a small flash file using Adobe Flash Video Encoder and then imported it onto the blog I then learned how to burn a DVD by using iDVD

7 Explain what works well and what doesn’t work well
The music for the credits does not work well because the music is a bit jumpy but it will do. What did work well are the little bits of footage on the new Batman film ‘The Dark Knight’ in between the footage where I have cut it. The clips give a professional touch to the film.

8 Sum up what has been the main learning experience
The main learning experience has been how to make a short film on final cut pro and how to edit it and how to use a camera
